Unless your name ends with Alexander, Carfrae or Wellington you are not winning the race. So get over yourself.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Never eat or drink anything in a race you did not use in training. Trust me on this one odds are against you if you put down your pie hole something you did not test in training. I have seen &amp;amp; heard it time &amp;amp; time again people having issues with nutrition because they ate or drank something they didn’t try prior to the race. Same concept holds true for new gear. If you didn’t test it in training don’t use it in a race.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Aid stations are NOT buffet tables. I can’t tell you how many times I would see age groupers congregating around these tables like cattle. Unless you lost or dropped your nutrition on the course, you better be sure whatever you choose @ one of these tables you tested in training. Practice it like you would the other three disciplines.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The fifth discipline is RECOVERY. Most age groupers don’t understand this concept. Most if not all age groupers go into races over trained. Don’t be one of them! &lt;/p&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;p&gt;Be an ambassador to the sport. Say thank you to all volunteers you meet, because without them there is no race.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Serve as a volunteer from time to time. You will not only be giving something back to the sport, but you learn &amp;amp; see things as a spectator that would not see if you were racing. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Check your ego in @ the door.
